The "Miracle on Ice" was 36 years ago today

There are two pieces of sports memorabilia that I own that I will never, ever sell.  One is an autographed picture of Bobby Orr flying through the air after scoring his famous goal.  The other is a picture signed by every member of the 1980 USA hockey team.  36 years ago today, that team made America believe in miracles.

Ever heard the Soviet announcers' call of the end of this game?  You should.  It really puts things in perspective. If you are a hockey fan, I highly recommend watching the ESPN 30 for 30 documentary "Of Miracles and Men."  While we have really only ever been exposed to the American side of the story, this tells the Soviet side of the events leading up to the 1980 Olympics.  It rightfully humanizes the Soviet team that we have always looked at as the "enemy."  If you have an hour, give it a watch.

But, I can't talk about this team without Herb Brooks' speech.  Don't tell me this doesn't give you the chills.
