Party like it's 1999! No glass or fence on the boards. That's some old school roller hockey. Back when the best "rink" around to play was a parking lot with makeshift boards. In Pro Beach Hockey, they used a ball, they had a ramp behind the net and a "Dome Zone". If you scored from outside the Dome Zone, it counted as two points, functioning like a three point line in basketball. I just never understood the V Form skates.
Fights are fun though.
Roller hockey got big in the 90's before ice hockey really took off in America. 4 on 4. No offsides, no icing. Wide open. It was a lot of fun, but died out when ice hockey rinks started popping up everywhere.
Remember the New Jersey Rockin Rollers? Probably not. I remember going to watch them play at the Meadowlands one time as a kid. Yes, pro roller hockey was a thing. It was that popular at the time.
Notice the sponsor by Taco Bell on this jersey? I LOVE Taco Bell. $169 for one of these one Ebay if you're wondering.
Now go enjoy this game from 1994. Pretty sure that's Julie the Cat in goal.
